Manor New Tech HighManor New Tech High School hosted several guests from across the world on Tuesday.The school welcomed a delegation of educators, business leaders, and government employees from Lebanon, who are visiting the United States to learn about how Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education can link into entrepreneurship and the problem-solving learning that helps students become solution seeking adults.Guests were treated to breakfast, an introduction by Principal Bobby Garcia, a background of MNTHS and how the school incorporates rigorous, project-based learning and innovative practices into its curriculum. The delegation also got to experience Math, English, Computer Science, and Engineering classes while interacting with Titan students.Leaders were then taken to visit Manor New Tech Middle School, and were excited to see the open space layout. The group was impressed with the pipeline of students coming into the New Tech model schools after speaking with several Gladiator scholars. The group has also spent time in Washington D.C. and other areas around Austin.This is not the first time international guests have visited Manor. In September, a cohort from Japan visited the campus to see how they can advance women in STEM fields.MNTHS also hosted a team visiting from Eastern Europe interested in strategic innovation in entrepreneurship.The visits are organized by Global Austin, which sets up a variety of fields for professional development. Groups are under the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program, which fosters diplomacy for emerging leaders.MNTHS is a PBL demonstration school, which regularly gives tours to share its best practices.
